Policies

We think that the UK should be a federal nation of equals with an elected president.   Each member state should be autonomous on a national level but we face the world together as a federal nation on all matters of international policy.

We also support a new referendum on re-joining the EU as the new UK.

We propose an overhaul of the policing and criminal justice system.  There should be a national police force for each of the home nations and a federal force.  The criminal justice system would be reformed to model it on the Korean system where the victim plays a larger part in the process. 

The civil court process also needs reconsideration,

The economy should work for the benefit all of us.  Taxation should be obvious and not hidden, it should be fair and impact only those who can afford it.  

We would look to replace VAT with an environmental tax which takes into account all aspects of environmental stewardship from recyclable content to air miles.  

We would also propose to put in place rules to prevent big business profiteering at the expense of the public and their workers.

Every individual should have a living wage and all families should be able to afford a basic standard of living.

Rent controls are essential to ensure everyone can afford to live. 

There should be a written constitution for the federal nation and each of the home nations should have its own written constitution.

All individuals in each of the home nations should have the protection of a bill of rights which no part of the UK can dishonour.

We see the need for individuals to work to save the environment but it is big business that needs to work harder.  

Homes must be insulated, become more energy and water self-sufficient and better in disposal of its waste.

Energy and water companies need to be brought into the public domain and made to act in an environmentally responsible manner.

Electric public transport should be improved to place a smaller burden on individual expenditure .

Renewable energy is the way forward.

We are committed to NATO.  

Work needs to be done on the UN as the veto in the security council is crippling in practice and the UN needs to address this.

The armed forces are underfunded and ill equipped.  The United Kingdom should have a united fighting force capable of defending ourselves and our allies and there should be a 'national guard' style structure to deal with national disasters and emergencies.

We propose that the UK is a federal nation but that each member state should determine for itself if it should be headed by the monarch.

We support the House of Windsor continuing as the head of state for England in a ceremonial role on revised terms.

Our education system lags behind other nations and lessons can be learned from them.  The school attendance age should be changed and the GCSE and A-level system scrapped in favour of a better matriculation system.  We need to  recognise all talents of all children and prepare them for a productive future in society fulling their individual potential and heading for the best future they can give us, for our mutual benefit.  Children should have free school meals and the school year should be reconsidered.

The NHS is the single greatest achievement in politics of the 20th Century and we need to protect it.

It should be overhauled completely to ensure that the structure is run as efficiently as possible.  The dental side of the NHS needs attention and the principle of free health care should apply to every part of the health care system.

The benefits system is not fit for purpose largely.  This is particularly the case for disability benefits and child benefit.
